We are rebuilding!
We are calling a Pastor!

1. We are rebuilding!

As part of our social ministry, the congregation of St. Matthew currently has embarked on an ambitious affordable housing building project.

The project is now well underway, and scheduled for completion in February 2009. The Province of New Brunswick has increased the number of subsidized units. The project consists of a 45-unit residential complex, all of which will be subsidized by the Province for low-income seniors. The common area will include a new church worship facility for St. Matthew.

The non-profit corporation, Luther Place Apartments Inc., is carrying the housing project forward. We are extremely pleased to see our plans of many years finally come to fruition.

Bishop Michael Pryse of ELCIC Eastern Synod will dedicate the new facility on Palm Sunday, April 5, 2009.

Without a resolution in 2004 by the ELCIC and Anglican Church of Canada calling on all levels of government to create 25,000 units of affordable housing annually, this project very likely would not have come about.

More details will be forthcoming as they become available.

2. We are calling a Pastor!

The congregation of St. Matthew is on the active call list with the ELCIC.

We are seeking a Pastor to help lead the congregation on its spiritual journey. Three ministries are envisioned:

  1. Seniors
  2. Campus ministry
  3. Community outreach
